The Department spokeswoman obviously is trying to put a spin on things. A friend of mine who is a copper at Chicago PD has cnfirmed that morale is extremely low and they are not going to go out of their way to make arrests for fear that they will be overly scrutinized and eventually punished. Seems certain chiefs like to make a reputation for themselves. This happens everyday and I am sure some people actually buy into department brass’ excuses. An FTO story…When you are an FTO you come across some real characters when training rookie police officers. Many times you may find yourself asking, “How did this person get hired?” Whether it is because the person is a friend of a politician or is a suck up to the police chief it is a sad state of affairs when someone who clearly should be in another line of work gets hired as a police officer.With that in mind, I am reminded of someone who rode along with me. As we all know, arrestees that we know for certain are guilty get off or are found not guilty for whatever reason(s). That being said, it appears that Northlake Police’s version of Slick Willie, Dennis Koletsos, has been exonerated from a lawsuit once again. Without knowing all the facts, only he and Coary know all the exact facts, I can’t give an exact and appropriate opinion on the matter. Seems that the City of Northlake is being sued again. How is it that this city keeps getting sued? Chief Dennis Koletsos and the Northlake Police Department have been sued how many times?? The following was taken from the City of Northlake Website, Council minutes: Alderman Patti made a motion to approve an internship with the Police Department to Megan Koletsos; seconded by Alderman Delgado. Alderman Straube called for the roll. Now, I have never met this woman and I have nothing against her. I am assuming this is the daughter of the great and honorable Chief Dennis Koletsos. Lets hope that the apple fell far, far from the tree! Hmmm, better keep a certain Sgt. away from her!!

I found an old briefcase as I was cleaning the garage and found some interesting memos from my days at Northlake PD. I have several other cases somewhere in the house and will check those for more. This Town Never Changes

While driving through the wonderful town of Northlake, Illinois I saw this sign and had to take a picture.This is the same town that has the same little mayor, Jeffrey T. Sherwin, who hired and has stuck by, almost literally, his guy Dennis Koletsos, the little(and in my opinion, the arrogant & incompetent) Chief of Police. Looks like some things never change here.
