Officer Needs Assistance: DEA Agent Leon Lacey

A former co-worker and friend has gotten terrible news and needs our assistance. Leon is not only a great law enforcement officer, he is a friend. He is a humble man of integrity and generosity & loyalty to others. He would go out of his way to help others and it is now time for us to assist him in his time of need. Please help. Please pray. Please do whatever is in your heart to do. Another Controversy for Northlake’s Jeffrey Sherwin and Dennis Koletsos

This is an article in todays Chicago Tribune. it amazes me that Jeff Sherwin and Dennis Koletsos are still in their positions as mayor and police chief after the years of controversy and wasted taxpayer money. after reading this I ask why would an organization want to keep the investigation of this felony in house? why wouldn’t they have immediately called an outside agency to avoid a conflict of interest as well as the look of impropriety? hmmmmmm….. makes you wonder!                Chief Dennis Koletsos                                    …Read more […..]

Earl, True Blue 24/7

After being hired by the Northlake Police Department and graduating from the Chicago Police Academy, the first police officer got to really know, besides my FTO, was Earl. I remember my first impression, and the first impression is very important, was that this guy was very confident and knew his stuff. My FTO, Dan, had told me which officers I could trust and which ones I couldn’t and Earl was the first that I was told I could trust. I took this with a bit of hesitation since several of the old timers, Don M., Louie D. and Tommy O., had each told me, in general, to watch out who I trusted. Boy, what a way to enter a workplace! Northlake Mayor Jeffrey Sherwin in Hot Water!

I would think an attorney would know better. But, coming from the town of Northlake….And, this man and his cohort, Police Chief Dennis Koletsos, both arrogantly stood in judgement of many police officers(most who supported the police union) for, in some cases,  more trivial matters. The old saying that what comes around goes around stands true in this case. Best wishes to Jeffrey Sherwin and Dennis Koletsos! Great Job CBS Chicago’s Pam Zekman! Northlake Mayor Got Tax Breaks He Didn’t Deserve NORTHLAKE, Ill. (CBS) – There are millions of dollars in homeowners exemptions given to Illinois property …Read more […..]

LAPD officers who complained about ticket quotas are awarded $2 million

This reminds me of a previous employer, the Northlake Police Department in Illinois, led by Chief Dennis Koletsos. We were told that these were called standards as in performance standards. Officers were disciplined if they didn’t meet the “standards” which included numbers of tickets. The veteran motorcycle officers alleged in a lawsuit that they were punished with bogus performance reviews, threats of reassignment and other forms of harassment after objecting to demands from commanding officers that they write a certain number of tickets each day. Ticket quotas are illegal under state law. There’s a fine …Read more […..]

Excellent Police Chase and Suspect Take Down

Description: This is an Emmy award winning story shot by a photojournalist from WSYX/WTTE (ACB/FOX) in Columbus, OH heard a chase going down on his police scanner. The chase involved multiple juristictions (Columbus police and Gahanna police and Franklin Co. Sheriff’s) so he decided to find a spot ahead of the chase to pull over and get some video of the cruisers as they flew past. Amazingly enough the Gahanna cop who has special training made a bold move right there in front of his camera! He did what is called a PIT move. This swings the car around and allows the cop to use his cruiser to block the driver in the car. …Read more […..]
