Suspect dead, officer injured in police-involved shooting

January 11, 2010 (WLS) — An officer was hurt and a suspect was killed in a police-involved shooting in the western suburbs Monday night.

It started as a police pursuit in the town of Franklin Park and that pursuit ended with the shooting on East Lake Street in Northlake.

It is not clear what actually led to Franklin Park police opening fire. But the driver of the car was killed by police.

One Franklin Park officer was shot in the hand.
