Dog found stabbed to death in bathtub

A Chicago man has been charged with animal cruelty after police called to his home in the Belmont Central neighborhood found his dog stabbed to death in a bathtub, police said today.

Officers responded Monday at about 4 a.m. to a call for a well-being check at William McIntosh’s home in the 5800 block of West Fullerton Avenue. They later found the body of the dog, a female pit bull, in the tub with multiple stab wounds, police said.

It was unclear why McIntosh, 45, allegedly stabbed the animal, police said. He scheduled to appear in bond court today.
