Dallas Police Chief’s Son Suspected of Killing Cop

LANCASTER, Texas — Investigators said Monday they believe the 27-year-old son of Dallas Police Chief David Brown shot and killed a man at a suburban apartment complex and then opened fire on responding officers, killing one, before being shot to death. Dallas County Sheriff Lupe Valdez said investigators were still sorting out details, but it appeared David Brown Jr. shot Jeremy McMillan, 23, on Sunday evening and opened fire on Officer Craig Shaw and others when they responded. Dallas Cops Disciplined Over Vehicle Pursuit

By Tanya Eiserer The Dallas Morning News More than a dozen Dallas police officers, including a supervisor, have been disciplined over a lengthy May 2009 high-speed chase of carjacking suspects during rush-hour traffic. Punishments range from two five-day suspensions to the recommendation that two officers be demoted and minor discipline such as written counseling.
